Shipping, Payment and Warranty Policy Information
HOME SURPLUS STORE PICKUP AND SHIPPING POLICY
STORE PICKUP
You may pick up your order from any of our locations during normal business hours.
To check availability of items on your order or to check stock prior to placing your
order, please contact the store location where you would like to pick up your order.
State and local sales tax will be collected on any order that will be picked up.
As a security measure to prevent fraudulent use of your credit card, we ask that you
present the same credit card you used to place your order online as well as a state
issued photo ID when you pick up your order.
SMALL PACKAGE SHIPMENTS - ORDERS UNDER 70 POUNDS (For example: Faucets, locks)
The shipping cost for small package orders will be $5.00 plus 7% of the total order value. We will ship most small package orders via UPS or USPS. Small package orders placed before 12:00 noon, Monday through Friday, will be shipped the same day. Small package orders placed after 12:00 noon will be shipped the next business day. Small package orders generally take from 1 to 6 days to arrive at the delivery address.
--NOTE: Packages under 70 pounds that are oversize per UPS guidelines may be subject to an additional handling charge of $50.00 per package and may delay the processing of your order.

LARGE AND HEAVYWEIGHT SHIPMENTS (For example: Doors, cabinets)
--LOCAL DELIVERY (NJ address within 60 miles of our Keyport, NJ location)
Heavyweight orders that will be shipped to a destination in New Jersey within 60 miles
of our main warehouse in Keyport, NJ may be scheduled to ship via our truck. Curbside
delivery is standard and we will advise you of the delivery date and approximate time
so that you can arrange to have help available to receive your order. Heavyweight orders
that ship via our truck will be charged a flat rate $100 fee if within 25 miles of our
Keyport NJ warehouse, and $150 for orders shipped 25 to 60 miles from our warehouse.
--NON-LOCAL DELIVERY (Address outside NJ or over 60 miles from our Keyport, NJ location)
Heavyweight orders that will be shipped outside of NJ or more than 60 miles from our
Keyport, NJ warehouse will be sent by common carrier. Your shipping cost will be $100.00
plus 7% of the total order value.
--NOTE: Shipments made to an address outside of normal transit routes may be subject to delivery surcharges. You will be advised prior to final processing of your order of any
additional shipping or handling charges.
HOME SURPLUS PAYMENT POLICY
Orders must be paid in full prior to product release for pickup or shipment.
IN STORE PAYMENTS
We accept the following forms of payment:
1. Credit card: Discover, Mastercard and Visa. Credit card must be present
to swipe for any in store payment.
2. Debit card. You will be required to authorize the payment using your PIN.
3. Money Order, bank/cashiers check or certified check.
4. Personal and business checks may be accepted as payment for products
which will not be taken for a minimum of five business days after the date
the check is given to Home Surplus.
5. Cash payments no greater than $200.00.
DELIVERED AND SHIPPED ORDERS
We accept the following forms of payment:
1. Credit card: Discover, Mastercard and Visa.
Payments will be processed prior to the order leaving our warehouse. Orders
that are delivered by our truck will include a copy of the credit card payment
receipt which must be signed on delivery of the merchandise. Orders shipped
via common carrier will be faxed a payment receipt that must be signed and
faxed back to Home Surplus. Orders paid by credit card must be shipped to the
billing address of the credit card holder.
2. Money Order, bank/cashiers check or certified check. No additional cost for
orders delivered by our truck. COD collection fees will be charged by the common
carrier on orders that are not delivered by our truck.
3. Personal and business checks may be accepted as payment for products
which will not be delivered for a minimum of five business days after the date
the check is given to Home Surplus.
PLEASE NOTE: Cash payment will NOT be accepted on delivered/shipped orders.
HOME SURPLUS PRODUCT WARRANTY POLICY
Products offered for sale in our retail stores and on our Web site are designed and
manufactured to meet or exceed generally accepted industry standards. The products we
sell are manufactured by a number of different vendors in the United States and the
global market. HOME SURPLUS makes no warranty as to the suitability of any product
offered for sale for any specific application.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY
Many of the products we sell are covered under the individual manufacturer's warranty,
which will vary from product to product and from manufacturer to manufacturer. Please
contact us to obtain warranty information for a specific product.
WOOD PRODUCTS WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS (Including cabinetry, doors, flooring, moldings, etc.) Naturally occuring wood characteristics: Variations in color, grain, mineral streaks,
knots and other wood qualities are not considered defects. Wood products will expand and
contract with changes in climatic conditions, and the resulting dimensional variation of
the natural wood product is not considered a defect. Finished wood products: Color variations in finished wood products is a natural occurrence
due to wood species, age, wood character, and exposure to light and climatic changes. Such
variations and changes are not considered defects, and for these reasons new and replacement
wood products may not match display samples and/or existing wood products.
