HOME SURPLUS STORE PICKUP AND SHIPPING POLICY

STORE PICKUP
You may pick up your order from either of our locations during normal business hours. To check availability of items on your order or to check stock prior to placing your order, please contact the store location where you would like to pick up your order. State and local sales tax will be collected on any order that will be picked up. As a security measure to prevent fraudulent use of your credit card, we ask that you present the same credit card you used to place your order online as well as a state issued photo ID when you pick up your order.

SHIPMENTS
Local Deliveries: $199 Within 60 Miles of our NJ locations
All deliveries made by HOME SURPLUS truck are subject to NJ State sales tax.
Deliveries made outside of New Jersey will be subject to any toll surcharges.

–NON-LOCAL DELIVERY: Orders that will be shipped outside of New Jersey or more than 60 miles from Keyport, NJ warehouse will be sent by common carrier. Please contact us to get a shipping quote for your order.

HOME SURPLUS SHIPPING CLAIM POLICY

Products are inspected prior to shipping and are packaged to avoid damage during transit, however there may be an occasion when a shipment is damaged after it leaves our warehouse. Please inspect all packages upon receipt, and note any damage to the shipping carton or crate on the bill of lading at time of receipt of delivery. Notify HOME SURPLUS of any such damage within 24 hours of receipt of delivery by sending an email to [email protected], or by calling HOME SURPLUS at 1-732-888-3600. If a delivery arrives with visible damage and you are not sure whether to accept the shipment, please contact HOME SURPLUS at 732-888-3600 to receive instruction on whether to accept or refuse the delivery. Even if there is no visible damage to the shipping carton you must inspect the products received and report any damage to HOME SURPLUS within 24 hours of receipt of delivery. Product defects, not damages, are handled under each manufacturer’s warranty policy.

HOME SURPLUS PAYMENT POLICY

Orders must be paid in full prior to product release for pickup or shipment.

IN STORE PAYMENTS
HOME SURPLUS accepts the following forms of payment:
1. Credit card: Discover, Mastercard and Visa with a United States billing address. Credit card must be present to swipe for any in store payment.
2. Debit card. You will be required to authorize the payment using your PIN.
3. Money Order, bank/cashiers check or certified check.
4. Personal and business checks may be accepted as payment for products which will not be taken for a minimum of five business days after the date the check is presented to HOME SURPLUS.
5. Cash payments no greater than $200.00.

DELIVERED AND SHIPPED ORDERS
HOME SURPLUS accepts the following forms of payment:
1. Credit card: Discover, Mastercard and Visa. Payments will be processed prior to the order leaving our warehouse. Orders that are delivered by HOME SURPLUS truck will include a copy of the credit card payment receipt which must be signed on delivery of the merchandise. Orders shipped via common carrier will be faxed a payment receipt that must be signed and faxed back to HOME SURPLUS prior to shipping. Orders paid by credit card must be shipped to the billing address of the credit card holder.
2. Money Order, bank/cashiers check or certified check. No additional cost for orders delivered by HOME SURPLUS truck. COD collection fees will be charged by the common carrier on orders that are not delivered by HOME SURPLUS truck.
3. Personal and business checks may be accepted as payment for products which will not be delivered for a minimum of five business days after the date the check is given to HOME SURPLUS.

PLEASE NOTE: Cash payment will NOT be accepted on delivered/shipped orders.

HOME SURPLUS PRODUCT WARRANTY POLICY

Products offered for sale in HOMES SURPLUS retail stores and on the HOME SURPLUS Web site are designed and manufactured to meet or exceed generally accepted industry standards. The products sold at HOME SURPLUS are manufactured by a number of different vendors in the United States and the global market. HOME SURPLUS makes no warranty as to the suitability of any product offered for sale for any specific application. Product warranties are provided by the manufacturer and are handled under the manufacturer’s warranty guidelines. HOME SURPLUS does not provide product warranties. Warranties are limited to the repair and/or replacement of defective materials only and no warranty is made or implied on installation services.

MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY
Many of the products we sell are covered under the individual manufacturer’s warranty, which will vary from product to product and from manufacturer to manufacturer. Please contact us to obtain warranty information for a specific product. Some manufacturers do not provide a formal written warranty policy, and any warranty claims with those manufacturers will be facilitated through HOME SURPLUS customer service. HOME SURPLUS will communicate with the manufacturer on the consumer’s behalf, however any warranty claim will be limited to the manufacturers resolution of the claim. Warranties are limited to the repair and/or replacement of defective materials only and no warranty is made or implied on installation services.

WOOD PRODUCTS WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS (Including cabinetry, doors, flooring, moldings, etc.)
Naturally occuring wood characteristics: Variations in color, grain, mineral streaks, knots and other wood qualities are not considered defects. Wood products will expand and contract with changes in climatic conditions, and the resulting dimensional variation of the natural wood product is not considered a defect. Finished wood products: Color variations in finished wood products is a natural occurrence due to wood species, age, wood character, and exposure to light and climatic changes. Such variations and changes are not considered defects, and for these reasons new and replacement wood products may not match display samples and/or existing wood products.

HOME SURPLUS RETURN POLICY

Original Receipt: The original receipt or packing slip is required for all returns and exchanges.Return & Exchange Period: Five (5) days after receipt of product(s).Home Surplus reserves the right to deny any return or exchange.Non-Returnable Items
Some items cannot be returned, including:
•Shipping cost
•Labor or assembly cost
•Assembled cabinetry
•Prehung doors
•Items that are damaged, abused or otherwise modified
•Items that are missing accessories or component parts

Avoid shipping charges and receive a refund more quickly by returning your items to the
Home Surplus store where you made your purchase.
1.Include all original packing materials, component parts, accessories and instructions.
2.Bring your receipt or packing slip.Returns By Mail, UPS or FedEx
You can return small package online purchases through the mail, UPS or FedEX delivery service.
To ship a return of your online purchase:
1.Pack your return in the original shipping package, if possible.
2.Include the packing slip and return label, and indicate the reason for the return.
3.Include all original packing materials, manuals and accessories.

•Refunds will be credited to the original credit card or PayPal account. A refund check will be issued/mailed for orders paid by check 30 days after the date of receipt of the check payment.
Refund Method For in-store purchases:
•Your refund will generally be in the same form as the original purchase. However, when the item was paid by cash or debit in an amount greater than $100 the refund will be in the form of a check.

HOME SURPLUS ORDER CANCELLATION POLICY

Please note that once you place your order Home Surplus will begin the order
fulfillment process, and for this reason an order cancellation request
must be submitted within 24 hours of placing your order. Cancellation
requests made after the 24 hour period will be subject to review by
management, but in most cases once the order is in process it cannot be
cancelled. Any order with assembled cabinetry, prehung doors, or any
special order items cannot be cancelled.
